The meeting of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture was held on July 6, 2022 in the National Reserve "Sofia Kyivska", as well as online.
Twelve full members (academics) and two corresponding members of the UAA were present. The meeting was opened by the president of the Academy, Academician Oleg Sleptsov.
Academician Mykola Dyomin, vice-president of the Academy, gave a report on the methods and approaches of organizing scientific and project activities in the field of architecture and urban planning in the process of eliminating the consequences of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
The problems, tasks and prospects of the revival of urban and rural settlements destroyed by the war were touched upon by Yevhen Plashchenko, director general of the Directorate of Spatial Planning of the Territory and Architecture of the Ministry of Regions, Artem Glushchenko, head of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration; Head of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Sumy Regional State Administration, Corresponding Member Volodymyr Bykov, Academician Vadym Hesin (Kharkiv).
Academician Oleksandr Kashchenko, dean of the Faculty of Architecture of KNUBA, gave a report on the peculiarities of the educational process organization in the architectural specialty during the period of martial law, academician Vadym Kutsevich highlighted the latest approaches to the regulation of safety issues in the design of civil construction objects.
Academician Nelya Kukovalska, director of the National Reserve "Sofia Kyivska", reported on the state and problems of the State Reserves of victims during the war.
Academician Borys Erofalov shared the content of the Academy's publishing program.
Academician Vyacheslav Negoda told about the creation of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Academy, academician Vadym Hesin presented the information about the harmonization of the UAA Statute with the current requirements of Ukrainian legislation.
The state and directions of activity of the regional branches of the Academy were highlighted by the head of the Southern Branch of the UAA Academician Valery Urenyov, the head of the Western Branch of the UAA Academician Viktor Proskuryakov, Academician Oleksandr Chyzhevskyi spoke about the participation of the UAA in international activities, the activity of the Academy in improving the qualifications of specialists in the field of architecture and urban planning was reported by member correspondent Serhii Nikanorov.
Those present at the meeting took note of reports and messages, discussed the speeches of those present. The Advisory Scientific and Methodological Council of the UAA was founded, aimed at architectural and urban planning activities to eliminate the consequences of the Russian Federation's war with Ukraine.
