On April 25, 2025, the Institute of Architecture and Design at Lviv Polytechnic National University hosted a ceremonial presentation of the scientific monograph "Frederick Kiesler's Creative Work in Art and Science". This publication, prepared by Professor Viktor Ivanovych Proskuriakov, a full member of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture, and Doctor of Philosophy Kateryna Volodymyrivna Yanchuk, is the result of many years of scientific research conducted at the Department of Architectural Environment Design.
The monograph represents a synthesis of numerous scientific investigations, experimental projects, and publications carried out during the period from Professor Proskuriakov's first lecture in Ukraine on "The Kiesler Phenomenon" at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University to the defense of Kateryna Yanchuk's doctoral dissertation on "F. Kiesler's Architectural and Theatrical Creative Work".

The publication is dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding architect and contains a thorough analysis of the conceptual foundations of his creative work. The authors of the monograph convincingly demonstrate that many of the ideas formulated by Frederick Kiesler in the 20th century maintain their relevance and theoretical-methodological significance for contemporary architectural science and practice.
Representatives from various departments of the Institute of Architecture and Design participated in the presentation. Scientific comments and reviews were presented by: Director of the IAAD, Professor Yuriy Dyba; Head of the Department of Architecture and Restoration, Professor Mykola Bevz; Head of the Department of Architectural Design, Professor Mykola Habrel; Head of the Department of Urban Planning, Professor Yuliia Idak; Professor at the Department of Visual Design and Art Bohdan Cherkes and other renowned scholars.
Participants in the scientific discussion unanimously noted that this monograph is the first fundamental study in Ukraine of the creative work of world-renowned architect Frederick Kiesler. Of particular value are the new directions of scientific research and practical implementation of Kiesler's conceptual ideas in the fields of architecture, design, urban planning, theatrical art, and other areas of artistic and project-based activities revealed in the monograph.
The monograph is recommended for scientists, lecturers, postgraduate students, students of architectural and artistic specialties, as well as for anyone interested in the history and theory of architecture and design.
