The Ukrainian Academy of Architecture has summarized the results of the first All-Ukrainian student competition for the best proposal for the architectural and planning organization of the public space of Independence Square in Sumy.
More than 60 students (architects) from 10 higher educational institutions took part in the competition.
The client of the competition is the All-Ukrainian public organization "Ukrainian Academy of Architecture".
The organizer of the competition is the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Sumy Regional State Administration.
Competition theme: Creation of a public space on the territory of Independence Square in the city of Sumy, which is the center of public and cultural life of the city.
The purpose of the competition: to determine the best project proposal for the creation of a modern public space in the central part of the city of Sumy, which will take into account the wishes and needs of the residents and contain a new conceptual content of the square and the territory adjacent to it.
