On April 12th, a meeting of the jury of the local open architectural competition took place in Drohobych to determine the best design proposal for the "Comprehensive planning of the urban park for culture and recreation on Truskavetska Street and the embankment in Drohobych." The client was represented by the executive committee of the Drohobych City Council, in the person of the mayor, T. Kuchma.
The main goal of the competition was to identify the best design proposal for the comprehensive planning of the park area (commonly known as "Ivasyk Telesyk") in order to determine possible new development options for the park's function for further implementation.
Professionals and amateurs, as well as author teams of specialists and individual experts practicing in the fields of architecture, design, and sculpture, were invited to participate in the competition, including students.
After fruitful work by the jury, chaired by the chief architect of the city, I. Petranich, with the deputy chairman being Professor and Full Member of the
Ukrainian Architects' Association, V. Proskuryakov, and the responsible secretary O. Melenchuk, architects P. Smetana - member of the NSAU, M. Kotiv, and I. Kutsmyda - head of the department of urban planning and architecture of the Drohobych District Military Administration, among others.
The first and third places were taken by projects under the slogans 869401 and 313891. The winners were master's students from the Department of Architectural Design Environment (DAS) - A. Zhydachevska, O. Kushnir, Yu. Levush, and V. Prokurat. The third place was also won by students from the DAS department - R. Berzhavych, N. Konsulov, V. Koshyk, and M. Rutskyi.
