Modern challenges require innovative methods for their resolution.

Preservation and protection of architectural heritage remain extremely important for Ukraine today, considered a priority for any civilized state.

Our compatriots suffer from rocket attacks every day, as do architectural and artistic monuments. Unfortunately, today there is a long list of "cultural casualties" of Russian aggression in many Ukrainian cities. Particularly in ancient Chernihiv, where both sacred and public buildings have been destroyed and damaged by war.

Therefore, the Chernihiv City Council has approached KNUBA requesting assistance in restoring a number of affected objects.

In the initial stage of this extensive work, the team of the Department of Architectural Basics and Architectural Design has developed a project for the restoration of the war-damaged public facility - the "Ukraine" hotel, located on "Peace Avenue" in Chernihiv. Through the collaboration of generations, young creators under the guidance of experienced architects and professors have offered their original vision of architecture for the new Ukraine they want to live in.

Together, we are writing the history of the education and formation of future architects, who are already given the opportunity to participate in real design projects.

May this narrative become a ray of hope, a light piercing through the darkness of events, overcoming the challenges of fate.
