On November 17, 2021, an organizational zoom meeting was held in the National Reserve "Sofia Kyivska" with the participation of representatives of the national reserves "Sofia Kyivska", "Glukhiv", national historical and cultural reserves "Kachanivka", "Chigyrin", "Hetman's capital", "Castles" Ternopil" and heads of the All-Ukrainian public organization "Ukrainian Academy of Architecture". Urgent issues in the field of cultural heritage protection and the activities of nature reserves were discussed, as well as the search for ways to solve them.
The Ukrainian Academy of Architecture has initiated the creation of a permanent advisory body - the Council of Reserves under the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture, which, based on the assumed powers, will be able to promptly contribute to the resolution of problematic issues in the field of cultural heritage protection and the functioning of historical and cultural reserves of Ukraine.
The participants of the meeting reviewed and approved the Regulation on the Council of Reserves at the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture, voting unanimously for its creation. Previously, this issue was supported by the national reserves "Castles of Ternopil" and "Khortytsia". As a result of this decision, the issue of incorporation of reserves into the Academy as collective members, and their leaders as accredited members, will be brought up for consideration by the UAA General Meeting.
For better familiarization with each nature reserve, UAA President Oleh Sleptsov suggested creating an album that would contain brief historical information about all twenty-four Ukrainian nature reserves, information about their current activities. This proposal was also supported by the participants.
The next issue was the discussion of the possibility of legal registration through the signing of a cooperation agreement. The first cooperation agreement was signed between UAA (president Oleh Sleptsov) and Sofia Kyivska National Park (General Director of the Reserve, Academician of UAA, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Nelya Kukovalska).
President Oleh Sleptsov and Vice-President Mykola Dyomin took part in the event on behalf of UAA.
