All-Ukrainian public organization "Ukrainian Academy of Architecture", in accordance with paragraph 22 of the Procedure for conducting architectural and urban planning competitions, approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 2137 dated November 25, 1999, announces the holding of the "All-Ukrainian Open Architectural Competition for the best project proposal for the reconstruction of Independence Square in the city of Sumy" (hereinafter the Contest).
The client of the competition is the All-Ukrainian public organization "Ukrainian Academy of Architecture".
The organizer of the competition is the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Sumy Regional State Administration.
Competition theme: Creation of public space on the territory of Independence Square in the city of Sumy, which is the center of public and cultural life of the city.
The purpose of the competition: to determine the best project proposal for the creation of a modern public space in the central part of the city of Sumy, which will take into account the wishes and needs of residents and contain a new conceptual meaning of the square and the territory adjacent to it.
Competition dates: February - June 2022.
In order to participate in the contest, the author/author's team must apply for participation in the contest by filling out the registration form on the website of the contest organizer http://www.arhitektura.sm.gov.ua/index.php/uk/ Contest registration deadlines - until 6 p.m. hours 15.03.2022.
Requirements for the professional level of the Contest participants: not established.
Contest participants do not pay the registration fee.

The prize fund of the competition is UAH 300,000. (three hundred thousand hryvnias). 3 (three) prizes are awarded for the first 3 prize places:
1 (first) prize – first place – UAH 150,000. 00 kopecks, including taxes;
2 (second) prize – second place – UAH 100,000. 00 kopecks, including taxes;
3 (third) prize – third place – UAH 50,000. 00 kopecks, including taxes.
The tender documentation will be sent to the registered participants of the tender to the e-mail address indicated by them on March 16-17, 2022.
Before the deadline for submission of projects, the author/author team must submit a complete set of the competition project (tablets in printed and electronic form; explanatory note in electronic and printed form, additional materials (optional) and declaration of authorship) to the organizer of the competition by mail (mandatory with a binding note on the envelope "for the All-Ukrainian open architectural competition for the best project proposal for the reconstruction of Independence Square in the city of Sumy" or in person at the address: Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Sumy Regional State Administration, 40030, Sumy, 29 Pershotravneva St., office 38 .
The electronic version of the competition work with an explanatory note must be sent to the email address: arhitektura.soda@gmail.com (indicate the code of the competition project in the subject of the letter).
Competition projects are performed in Ukrainian.
The non-property copyright for the competition project belongs to the author(s) and is protected in accordance with the Laws of Ukraine "On Copyright and Related Rights" and "On Architectural Activity".
Property copyright of awarded projects with their further use is transferred to the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Sumy Regional State Administration in accordance with the terms of this competition.
