Only a week has passed since the meeting of the leaders of the reserves of the Western region of Ukraine in the Duben Castle, where they unanimously supported the idea of creating an Association at the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture. And already yesterday, March 23, the creative, cultural, spiritual association was confirmed officially: 9 historical and cultural institutions signed a memorandum of cooperation with the academy.
The historical event took place within the framework of the field session of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture. The Presidium consists of highly respected statesmen: President of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture Oleg Sleptsov, active members of the Academy - People's Architect of Ukraine Mykola Dyomin, Director General of the Sofia Kyivska National Reserve Nelya Kukovalska, candidate of legal sciences Serhiy Baranov-Mokhort.
In the Throne Hall of the Dubensky Castle, the distinguished guests were welcomed by the princely couple - Vasyl-Kostyantyn Ostrozky and Sofia Tarnovska. The owners of the castle blessed the highly respected society for fruitful work, which is designed to preserve and multiply our glorious history and culture.
"The 57 nature reserves of Ukraine are a powerful force that, united, can help the state in the noble task of preserving the historical and cultural heritage," President of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture Oleg Sleptsov addressed the audience in his welcoming speech. - At the same time, memorandums of cooperation between the reserves and the academy are an opportunity to actively communicate, form a package of problems related to the activities of the institutions, discuss them in the highest circles of specialists in the cultural sphere, and most importantly - solve them at the legislative and executive level."
For 23 years, Nelya Kukovalska, the general director of the Sofia Kyivska National Nature Reserve, has been supporting and popularizing the cultural industry of Ukraine. She recalled that 5 years ago the idea of creating an association of nature reserves was already "floating in the air". The Ministry of Culture treated her loyally: they did not object to the appearance of such an association, but they did not particularly support it either.
The new president of the academy, Oleg Sleptsov, launched the mechanism for creating the association, taking into account its relevance, especially in today's difficult time for our country.
First of all, we want to be heard by the authorities. It is not only about the preservation of cultural heritage, but also important issues of urban planning, management of nature reserves and museums. We are too involved in our ministries, which slows down our development to some extent. We should all understand that culture is also a strategic industry and without cultural heritage, the state has no future.

In the Throne Hall, those who are currently holding another front - a cultural front - have gathered. The aggressor wants to destroy our history, which means to erase our people from the face of the earth. Today, historical and cultural reserves are the backbone of our statehood. It is impossible not to agree with the opinion of the director of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Mezhybyzh" in Khmelnytskyi Oleg Pohorilets that the association is another combat unit that will help hold the Ukrainian cultural front.
In a sublime solemn atmosphere, memoranda of cooperation with the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture were signed by the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Mezhybyzh", the National Reserve "Castles of Ternopil", the State Historical and Cultural Reserve in the city of Lutsk, the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Ancient Volodymyr", the State Historian - cultural reserve in the city of Ostrog, Rivne regional museum of local history, National historical and memorial reserve "Field of the Battle of Berestets", State historical and architectural reserve of Kremenets, State historical and cultural reserve of Dubna.
Soon the advisory body of the Association of Nature Reserves will be formed and the newly created association will take its first practical steps under the auspices of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture.
