On November 28, 2025, a ceremonial meeting of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture (UAA) was held at the National Reserve “Saint Sophia of Kyiv,” in the Metropolitan’s House — the very place where the Academy was founded and located from 1944 to 1963.
The meeting began with the Academy’s anthem and a moment of silence. Afterwards, UAA President Oleg Sleptsov and UAA Chief Academic Secretary Volodymyr Bykov congratulated Anatolii Berkuta, Full Member of the UAA, Vice President of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine, and former Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Construction of Ukraine, on his 80th anniversary. The congratulations were joined by the General Director of the National Reserve “Saint Sophia of Kyiv,” Full Member of the UAA Nelia Kukovalska.
The ceremonial part continued with the awarding of students — winners of the Second All-Ukrainian Student Competition announced by the UAA: “Adaptive Reuse of the Cultural Heritage Monument of National Importance — the 1600 Castle, Protection No. 657, in Pidzamochok Village, Ternopil Region.”
A congratulatory speech to the competition participants was delivered by Anatolii Matsipura, General Director of the National Reserve “Castles of Ternopil Region.” UAA diplomas and certificates of appreciation were awarded to representatives of the author teams from: Lviv Polytechnic National University, Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic National University, Private Institution “Kharkiv School of Architecture”, Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, The Polytechnic University of Turin, Odesa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture
During the event, new members were admitted to the UAA:
- Anatolii Viktorovych Matsipura – Honorary Member of the UAA
- Valerii Anatoliiovych Bitaiev – Honorary Member of the UAA
- Anatolii Yevdokymovych Antoniuk – Full Member of the UAA
- Serhii Petrovych Sokolov – Accredited Member of the UAA
- “Kyiv Dome Company” LLC – Collective Member
In his closing remarks, UAA President Oleg Sleptsov thanked all competition participants and congratulated the newly elected members of the Academy. He also announced that the next, third All-Ukrainian Student Competition will be held at a heritage site in the Kharkiv region.
